Where the tirzepatide ladder sits, and what changes when the container does
Tirzepatide is dosed once weekly and steps upward in fixed increments about four weeks apart. Nothing about that schedule changes when your prescription arrives in a vial instead of a pen — the milligrams are the milligrams. What changes is that you now express them as a volume, and that volume depends entirely on how your particular vial was reconstituted.

Worth knowing before the first draw
- Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed.
- Two vials at the same milligram strength can need different units if they were reconstituted with different volumes.
- The FDA has flagged dosing errors with unapproved GLP-1 products, several involving unit-versus-millilitre confusion.
- A reconstituted vial's beyond-use date is set by the compounder and is usually far shorter than a boxed expiry.

You need the vial's concentration in milligrams per millilitre, which comes from its strength and the volume it was reconstituted with. Your dose in milligrams divided by that concentration gives millilitres; on a 100-unit insulin syringe, one millilitre is 100 units. Lumara does the conversion and shows every step so you can check it against the label.
Yes. Log the change of source against the same protocol and your dose steps, dates and adherence stay in one continuous record. The estimated levels curve is built from that history, so it continues across the switch rather than starting again.
It depends on the vial's strength, how it was reconstituted and the step you are on. Lumara calculates it from those three and counts down as you log, so "how many left" and "when do I reorder" stop being mental arithmetic.
They are not the same product. Zepbound® and Mounjaro® are FDA-approved products from Eli Lilly and Company; compounded preparations are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before they reach you. Lumara tracks either without taking a view on which you should be taking.
Until the beyond-use date your compounder assigned — enter it when you log the vial and Lumara warns you before it lapses, and again when the doses remaining will not carry you to your next delivery.
